Lenox Lounge

KL's pick:

Hit Harlem's Lenox Lounge (288 Lenox Avenue) which opened in the late 1930's for great music in the back room, a groovy bar in the front. This place served as a back drop to many jazz legends including Billie Holiday, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane.

It is located on Lenox Avenue, which is referenced in Langston Hughes poem The Weary Blues.
