Speakeasies Are Back

Hit Raines Law Room (48 W 17th, b/w 5-6) at the start or end of your date for expensive drinks (though strong and unique!) and an incredible vibe. They also have a small outdoor area and the wallpaper in the bathroom is worth a closer look for some suggestive images.

Its a speakeasy so walk a few steps down and ring the doorbell. Then sit back and drink legally.

Looking for something to do before or after this spot? Try dinner at the lounge in Japonais (111 E 18th, b/w Irving & Park). It's till a great spot, even if the kids from NYC Prep go there.

(I'm hoping to hit this speakeasy next: Apotheke (Chinatown - 9 Doyer St, b/w Pell & Bowery) . Been there? Let me know how it is in the comment section.)

  1. Another speakeasy worth checking out is Kyo Ya (94 E. 7th b/w 1st and A). It's Japanese! There is no sign so look for the street number and head downstairs to the basement.
