R & B's pick:Please Don't Tell (113 St. Mark's Place, b/w First Ave. and A), another recommended speakeasy, is a little bit harder to find. You enter through a phone booth and advance reservations are recommended (call at 3pm to reserve a table). The food comes from next door's Crif Dogs and features Wylie Dufresne's deep-fried hot dog with deep-fried mayo.
Drink recommendation: The Green Deacon (Plymouth Gin, sloe gin, grapefruit juice and St. George Absinthe. The absinthe rinse is applied via two sprays from a squirt bottle into the bottom of a small cocktail glass before the glass is filled).
The whole experience is pricey but worth it.
